I have opened an etsy shop. I love shopping on etsy. So many of the shops are owned by people with a passion for their product, genuinely looking to connect with others who share their interests. It is like the difference between shopping at the mall, and browsing in a quality craft market which satisfies on many levels and gives you a lovely day out. I like the fact that etsy is so full of the unique, the rare, the unusual, the hard to find, the pretty, and lots of lovely.
My intent is to offer the finest quality fabrics, threads, other materials and other paraphernalia for lovers of quilting, embroidery, counted thread work (including samplers) and other needlework … people like you and me. I am looking to source an inspiring and eclectic selection, many of them not widely available.
My debut fabric range is beautiful Dutch chintz, printed by Den Haan & Wagenmakers in the Netherlands. Chintz is a cotton fabric with a lightly polished finish. The fabric is printed with designs based on the original Indian chintz which was first brought to Europe by the Dutch East India Trading Company in the 17th and 18th centuries. These chintzes are mostly florals in lovely clear colours. I also have coordinating borders, narrow and wide, available by the yard. And then there are the sought after panels, including the perennial Tree of Life design, as shown above.
My Dutch chintz fabrics is beautiful for patchwork and quilting, but is also suitable for soft furnishings and clothes. The subtle polished finish makes it great for cushions. I also think it is ideal for making bags, totes, etc.
